Yarn Bombing noun the action or activity of covering objects or structures in public places with decorative knitted or crotcheted material, as a form of street art or protest. When the three elderly residents and keen knitters who occupy the 'Blue Day Room' in Bleak House Care Home learn that their High Street Haberdashery is to be closed - it's a call to arms. Their target, local Mayor Amy Spry, who is acquiring the shop for her 'Tour de Ridings' cycle race event. Unbeknown to them, the Care Home manager has also targeted the Mayor: as the only way to stop the Care Home being closed. She wants her goodwill; the Blue Room gang want her comeuppance. Something has to give, and it certainly does when the residents attack an event promoting the cycle race by 'Yarn Bombing' a sign the Mayor is unveiling.
